Mother’s Day 2025, 2026 and 2027
Celebration of Mother’s Day may be unofficial in Taiwan, but it is certainly not unusual or of little importance. The custom of keeping Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May has been widespread in Taiwan for decades.

Taiwanese put special emphasis on the value of childbearing, motherhood, and on family life in general. Thus, it is not surprising that Mother’s Day has grown to be of great importance here.
For Mother’s Day, there may be a cake and a party. Flowers, especially red carnations, are traditional for Mum to wear on “her day”. It is also common for someone else to take the load off of Mum’s back for the day by doing the cooking, cleaning, and other household chores.
